Ten years of Screen Goo! - In the year 2000, Goo Systems was formed by an electronics expert, a premium artists paint manufacturer, and a marketing professional. Shortly after its inception, Goo Systems successfully launched Screen Goo into the market bringing a unique option for users to create their own projection screens. Screen Goo's ability to be applied to almost any paintable surface has resulted in the product being used in a myriad of applications. The customer base has grown from a handful of cutting-edge home video projection enthusiasts and a few select industry insiders to include major educational, medical, religious and military institution, Fortune 500 companies, major theme park attractions, broadway productions, touring theatrical and musical acts, internationally renowned museums, restaurants, hotels, bars, nightclubs, casinos and, well, many more cutting-edge home video projection enthusiasts!
Backed by the huge success of CRT White, a true Reference White projection surface, our high contrast grey paints were pioneered and we have also introduced the very first paint that can be used on any transparent substrate to create a rear projection screen. Our most recent innovation came with the introduction of Ultra Silver 3D; a highly reflective, non-depolarizing projection surface offering unmatched performance in polarity-based 3D projection systems.
Now the time has come to proudly present our new website and at the same time introduce a number of changes to the product names, while of course still maintaining our proven and constantly optimized quality. So, say goodbye to 'CRT White' and say hello to 'Reference White'. Goodbye to 'Digital Grey', 'Digital Grey Lite' and 'Ultra Grey' and hello to 'High Contrast' and 'Max Contrast'. We are also changing how we describe the different types of coatings to more accurately define their role in the performance of a Goo screen. What we previously called 'Basecoat' will now be called 'Reflective Coat', and 'Topcoat' will now be called 'Finish Coat'. This should help clarify the role, in particular, of the Reflective Coat and rectify the somewhat widespread assumption that Screen Goo Basecoat was a primer, which was not the case.
The secret of Screen Goo lies in its specially formulated, highly reflective acrylic coating, which is tailored specifically for the video projection industry. Screen Goo acrylic coating allows one to transform any smooth paintable surface into a high performance screen. It provides professionals and DIY users a powerful alternative to traditional screens at significantly lower cost, in addition to outperforming the vast majority of screens in the market today.
Welcome to Goo Systems in Europe! We sincerely hope you enjoy the experience.
